In this tutorial, we learn how to obtain structured hexa mesh for analysis of a mechanical component in ANSYS Static Structural. Structured Hexa Core Mesh was obtained using Multizone meshing technique. Different features, advantages and disadvantages of multizone meshing are also discussed in the tutorial. Every single step has been explained throughout the video for better understanding. When one has insight of how different features work in mesher, they can obtain structural meshing in any other geometry. First, the geometry is split in different sweepable parts in design modeller. Procedure is explained comprehensively in the start. Then different regions are meshed one by one for obtaining hexa core structured mesh. Orthogonal quality of 0.94 (1 is ideal) and skewness of 0.11 (0 is ideal) was achieved, characterizing high quality of mesh. What is Adaptive Mesh? In this video, on behalf of Alpha Omega team, 3D Dam break, a classical two-phase flow problem, was solved using the adaptive meshing technique in ANSYS Fluent. Mosaic meshing (Poly-hexcore) was used in ANSYS Fluent meshing to generate the mesh with the total number of 50,753 cells. The Volume-of-Fluid (VOF) method was implemented in ANSYS Fluent to simulate the two-phase (air-water) flow in a tank. In order to refine the mesh, only near the gas-liquid interface, the dynamic adaption mesh with maximum refinement level of 2 was applied. Remeshing a Tet-Prism Volume Mesh with a Hexcore Mesh Fluent Meshing is ANSYS pre-processing tool of choice for Fluent users with large and complex geometries. Part 4 out of 5. Here, the volume mesh from Part 3 is used but we strip away the tet mesh to leave only the prism layers and re-fill the bulk volume with hexcore mesh.
