Now before you lose it, yes some of this information is basically confirmed, but there will be some speculation thrown in based on what I know about LG’s display technology, so if the final version isn’t 100% exactly the same as I talk about in this video, please consider the aforementioned disclaimer. But enough of that now let's talk about some upcoming LG displays, and before we get into the C3 let’s get one thing straight, the LG C2 42” is currently THE best all around PC display on the market, yes QD-OLED has it beat on brightness and refresh rate, and for some gamers they will definitely prefer that, but the higher resolution and clarity offered by the C2 since it doesn’t that weird color fringing and the similar overall latency despite a lower refresh rate make it a better display as a whole, which is why me and so many others are absolutely throbbing over the idea of an even better C2. Because let’s be honest as good as the C2 is the lower brightness and 120Hz refresh rate are definitely a cause for much wailing and gnashing of teeth among the PC community, but that's where I have some absolutely incredible news, because first of all its pretty much confirmed at this point that all of LG’s C3 displays will be using their EX panel technology used in their best current displays, which can offer up to 30% higher brightness and better color than the panels used in LG’s current 42” C2 displays. It's also likely that LG will increase the refresh rate to either 138, 144, or maybe even 240Hz. Now as much as I'd like to see 240Hz it's probably more likely we will see a 138Hz display as this seems to be the max most of their larger panels are capable of at 4K as seen on several displays released like that PG42UQ, but the difference is instead of using a hideous matte finish the LG C3 will technically be considered a TV, so it SHOULD have a beautiful glossy anti glare filter like they use on all other TVs Now in terms of pricing I would once again expect around $1,400 and a release date of some time around early to mid 2023. I’d like to say that the monitor industry is at its lowest point right now with how bad and overpriced the majority of products are on the market right now, but unfortunately that would be a lie, because ever since we strayed away from CRT the monitor industry has been dropping nothing but fat turds on our porch for years, and I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve had enough, and if I see one more company trying to charge over $1,000 for an LCD based display with a matte finish, I think i’m gonna completely lose it. Heck even over like $350 it's hard to recommend any LCD’s and even the best of them still are using a hideous, oily, grainy, matte finish which ruins the clarity, contrast, and vibrancy of the display to such a degree that I absolutely refuse to use one no matter how good or affordable every other aspect of the display is. So here we are i’m using a 55” TV as a monitor because it's the only good looking glossy 4K 144Hz OLED on the market, but guys as I mentioned earlier all that could be changing very soon, so not only did we just talk about that huge leak from TFT about a bunch of 4K OLEDs coming next year from LG and Samsung, but I got even more info on stuff that could be coming even sooner, because while many of those monitors were ALLEGEDLY planned to be released by late next year, many of the specs lead me to believe the majority won’t actually come until 2025. But guys i’m an absolute goblin and I WANT IT NOW GIMMIE GIMMIE, ok in all seriousness if like me you can’t bear the thought of waiting as long as over a year and a half to 2 years plus for actually good monitors, than let me share with you this silly little anecdote. Now this discussion all started when the YouTuber Stop the FOMO mentioned that he believed LG would bring MLA tech AND 144Hz to next year's LG C4, and I'll be honest guys I actually think he's right. This year the LG C series is stuck with older OLED panels which have their fair share of issues, and the biggest one is that they just aren’t bright enough. After calibration LGs previous panels are closer to 140 nits full screen and well under 1000 nits peak brightness which in my opinion just isn’t quite bright enough to give you that impactful HDR experience, accurately represent the creators intent, give me a fat chub, or to use for work purposes, but if they bring the G3s MLA tech to next years 42” C4 things could change and quickly. Plus unlike the TFT leak you would be able to get these possibly less than a year from now, which while still a long wait is much sooner, and the reason I believe LG will be forced to bring MLA and 144Hz to their C4 line up to some extent is that Samsung is being very aggressive with the pricing of their OLED TVs, and this will likely force LGs hand to raise the specs of their cheaper and smaller TVs much like they did with their larger G3 series this year. Now do keep in mind this could also end up not happening, but if you're holding out for a good 4K gaming monitor, this is likely going to be your best bet in the coming months. Music 🤍

What are the available notebook LCD surface finishes? How to tell the surface finish of your notebook display? This is an easy one, simply put it is entirely your choice, Matt and Glossy screens are completely interchangeable. Matt screens are coated with an anti-reflective (haze) coating or plastic film and will prevent reflections from windows and lights. Glossy screens have a mirror-like surface and will reflect external light sources, but at the same time will appear sharper with more vivid colours. Video by 🤍

My experiece i wanna share is: older Monitors like these Dell 27 or 30 inch with H3 Anti-Glare coating are easy to uncoat. Newer IPS types like LG38uc99 or others have thinner H3 layers of coating and the material is not so leaky for water. Always make a test on the corners first and dissasembly the monitor with the help of some research on the net.

Electronics and water, what could go wrong. The water dissolves the adhesive between the layers. Without letting the display soak, you won't get it off cleanly and the layer will most likely rip into pieces. Depending on the display, you might have a lot of different layers. Absolutely make sure you're only peeling the very topmost layer as it is the anti-glare layer. Removing anything below this layer will most likely destroy the display because you'll be removing the polarizer and the display will only show white afterwards. After removing the anti-glare layer, it's advisable to let the display dry overnight even. Do anything you can to make sure it is fully 100% dry before connecting it back, otherwise...you know...danger. How They’re Similar Glossy and matte displays use the same LCD panels. The only real difference between these two types of displays is the coating applied to the screen. In controlled situations, glossy and matte displays will look fairly similar. Glossy vs. Matte Displays Glossy displays have more vivid color and contrast. Colors appear more intense and saturated, while blacks appear deeper. However, light shining on the display can cause extremely noticeable reflections. Sunlight is the worst case scenario — either direct sunlight outside or even just sunlight coming in through a window. Reflections can make a glossy display basically unusable in direct sunlight. Matte screens have an anti-glare coating applied to them, so they’re much better at preventing reflections. It’s easier to see a matte screen in a bright room, whether you’re dealing with sunlight or just intense light from overhead fluorescent light bulbs in an office. The downside is that this coating makes colors appear a bit more dull. Glossy displays tend to look better in stores where there are no bright lights to cause glare, but you may want a matte display if you plan on using the display in a bright room. Matte displays may counteract glare much better, but that doesn’t really matter if you’re never going to use it in a bright area.
